Victor Dremen, MC Research Fellow at Aston Institute of Photonic Technologies, introduces the work of the Aston team develop a new multi-modal optical system for the full profile assessment of the modulation and viability of 3D printed skin and muscle models. One channel of the system is dedicated to Fluorescence Spectroscopy (FS) to detect metabolic changes and it is combined with Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) for morphologic changes in the respective modules when they are used as test platforms.
